Photos of Billie Joe and Adrienne at the recent Magic Marketplace Fashion and Apparel Trade Show in Las Vegas are available from Getty Images and arohex. Update: more pics on Getty. Their website won’t let me link to the page, so just enter Billie Joe Armstrong and select “Last 7 days” in the search: http://www.gettyimages.com/.

Update: A funny little blurb about Billie Joe’s appearance at the Magic Marketplace from Gay dot com:
“A punk superstar from the SF Bay Area is showing his line in person this afternoon [Day 3]: Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day. The sexy, socially-conscious lead singer launched his Adeline clothing line here last year. His wife Adrienne and he created the streetwear collection with Rock Steady Clothing Company.
“In his hit song, ‘American Idiot,’ Billie Joe sings tongue-in-cheek, ‘Maybe I’m the faggot America.’ If he’s as charming and handsome in person as he is on stage, here’s hoping we can claim Billie Joe Armstrong as an honorary queer. (Provided wife Adrienne approves, of course.)”

Billie Joe Gets Advice from Tony Robbins? |

Personally, I find this hard to believe, but in a new interview in Details magazine, motivational guru Tony Robbins says that Billie Joe is one of the people who take advice from him.
From Tony Robbins Uncut:
“Q: Are there prominent people who don’t want to say publicly that you’re coaching them?
A: The people I get are incredibly diverse: Anthony Hopkins, Quincy Jones, Andre Agassi, Serena Williams, Green Day.
“Q: So Billie Joe Armstrong calls you to ask questions about music?
A: He doesn’t call me for musical decisions. Before their American Idiot Tour, a lot of people thought they were just making the same stuff, and that they weren’t very strong. But he got my tapes, and they transformed his psychology. When they were at the Grammys, he was listening to my tapes backstage, before he went on. I listen to U2 and him; he listens to U2 and me.”

I came across a gallery of old, cool pictures by a photographer named Murray Bowles. Some I’d seen before and others I hadn’t. I can’t keep track of all the Green Day stuff floating around the net. So, whether you’ve seen these already or not, here’s the link:

Just some sweet old pictures of Green Day in the early days. This post was partly inspired by this picture of Billie Joe playing with Blatz, posted at thirdbeatred.

I’ve been too tired and crabby to write anything, so here’s a couple of funny caricatures of Mike and Tre that I came across. Sorry, no Billie Joe.

New Message from Billie Joe and the NRDC |

This was sent to fans who have signed up for Green Day’s campaign with the NRDC:
“Last week, Adrienne and I went to the premiere of “The 11th Hour,” Leonardo DiCaprio’s new documentary film. The movie is really great. You should check it out (it opens in New York and Los Angeles on Friday the 17th, and in other cities later this month).
“‘The 11th Hour’ is intense. It tells us the truth that nobody wants to hear: that human beings, especially greedy corporate executives and their politician cronies, are responsible for putting our planet in serious danger. If things don’t change soon, life on Earth may not survive. It has to be this generation that breaks the chain between the polluting corporations and the crooked politicians, this generation that changes its habits so there’s something left for other species and the people who come after us.
“There IS hope. We can make changes in our everyday lives, and most of the technology we need to move forward, we already have today. What we really need is the leadership, and the will, to change. You can see the movie trailer at http://wip.warnerbros.com/11thhour/. Go see the movie.
“Thanks for your past GreenDay + NRDC activism. Remember, you can always visit the site at http://www.greendaynrdc.com/ to take more actions and learn about changes you can make to help save the planet.
“Sincerely,
“Billie Joe Armstrong

Drawing of Billie Joe as a Simpsons Character |

Drawings by the artists who worked on the Simpsons movie were on display at the 7-Eleven turned Kwik-E-Mart in Burbank, CA, during the month of July.
The Simpsons usually has great caricatures of celebrities done Simpsons-style, but this one really doesn’t look like Billie Joe. It looks like a generic character. Where are his characteristic droopy eyes that turn downward at the outer corners? Or his pointy little nose? A bit disappointing really.
And as Cheryl pointed out, where are his tattoos????
