~Our warmest NWWM birthday wishes to Billie Joe Armstrong. Happy 38th Birthday Billie.

~The Daily Swarm reported, but has yet to be confirmed, that Green Day will be included in the lineup for Lollapalooza this year, to be held at Chicago’s Grant Park August 6-8.

Last night Billie Joe and Jason White hooked up with their sideband Pinhead Gunpoweder to play some gigs at 924 Gilman Street, Green Day’s old stomping ground. It was a benefit concert for a friend of thiers who has breast cancer. You can check out Pictures and Video here on the Green Day Authority.
Personally, I think Billie wears a dress pretty well. :D Great to see them out again!

~The AI cast and Green Day recorded a video for 21 Guns at Studio 880. AI tickets go on sale for the general public on Feb 14th.

~ Green Day takes home the Grammy for Rock Album, the same honor they received in 2005 for American Idiot. The American Idiot Musical Cast tweeted about their Grammys experience under the tag #AIGrammys.

~Green Day will perform at the Grammys on Jan. 31.

~It was announced today that the American Idiot musical will start previews at the St. James theater on March 24th. To get the latest news on the show sign up on the AI broadway website.

~The top notes from the S.F. Bay Area’s decade in music have Green Day at number 1: “One good thing to come out of George W. Bush’s reign of error was the newly politicized Green Day.”

~Billie Joe posted on Twitter for the anniversary of 39/Smooth, named after his brother who turned 39 at the time. (Billie Joe calls the album by its name, not the made-up, mash-up, funny name that came later, when it was released with additional material.)

~Green Day will be on Carson Daly’s New Year’s Eve show on NBC tonight, but their performance was pre-recorded.

~As you know, tens of thousands marched in Copenhagen yesterday to urge world leaders to act on global warming. Billie Joe and Adrienne were in Sydney, where they were photographed at a local protest.

On Twitter: “I just walked in a Walk for climate change rally/protest in Sidney! Make the stooges in Copenhagen listen!!! -bj.”

Billie Joe also reportedly said on stage that Obama, who just escalated the war in Afghanistan, doesn’t deserve the Nobel Peace Prize.
